{"id":1485,"date":"2014-06-20T12:56:23","date_gmt":"2014-06-20T10:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.93-93-113-41.plesk.page\/?page_id=1485"},"modified":"2024-02-26T17:10:25","modified_gmt":"2024-02-26T16:10:25","slug":"avoid","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dev.93-93-113-41.plesk.page\/en\/services\/digestive-system\/colon-hydrotherapy\/avoid\/","title":{"rendered":"When to avoid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Contraindications to colon hydrotherapy: When should colon hydrotherapy be avoided?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pregnancy.<\/li>\n<li>Acute abdomen.<\/li>\n<li>Acute outbreak of anal conditions (haemorrhoids, fissure, etc.) due to the impossibility of introducing the tube.<\/li>\n<li>Acute diverticulitis.<\/li>\n<li>Acute inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn\u2019s disease).<\/li>\n<li>After recent abdominal or bowel surgery or radiotherapy.<\/li>\n<li>Severe heart disease, liver cirrhosis, kidney failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Is colon hydrotherapy a complicated treatment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>No preparation or prior treatment is necessary and there are no undesirable effects.<\/strong> However, if you have a condition that causes you any doubts, you can make an appointment beforehand with a medical specialist at our Centre to assess your situation and rule out any contraindications.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish, you can also book a medical test after the treatment to assess the results and put in place the necessary health and dietary measures and treatments to maintain the benefits obtained.<\/p>\n<p>For the treatment, a specially designed tube, of single use, is inserted into the anus. It causes successive pressure for evacuation, removing faecal matter stuck to the wall of the colon and gases, with no effort from the patient, and cleanses the intestinal mucus, restoring its elasticity and correct functioning.<\/p>\n<p>Full treatment of the entire colon usually takes <strong>3 sessions<\/strong>. Each session lasts approximately <strong>45 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In general, it is recommended that a healthy person should receive a full treatment every 6-12 months to maintain perfect intestinal health.
