It studies the physiology and pathology of the endocrine glands, the interactions of some hormones with others and the various metabolic processes, as well as the alterations produced by their dysfunctions.
Endocrine glands produce chemicals called hormones that enter the body through the circulatory system. These hormones regulate all the body’s metabolic processes and their proper functioning is essential.
It is important to know that this set of organs and tissues of our body produce the hormones that regulate other systems as important as the nervous, digestive, reproductive and cardiovascular. Its imbalance is related, for example, to pathologies such as diabetes or obesity.
