It consists of the nasal placement of a small probe that is left 5 cm above the lower esophageal sphincter, which is connected at the other end to a recording device that will record for 24 hours the changes in acidity that occur at the esophagus level.
The test is not painful and patients usually get used to the probe quickly, which is removed 24 hours after placement.
